Developmental delay

‘Developmental delay’ is a way of saying that a child is taking longer than other children their age to do certain things like walking, talking, moving, learning new things and interacting with others. When we formally assess a child’s development we look at everything they’re able to do. We focus on building on their strengths and helping them reach their potential at a pace that’s right for them. This is a team effort, done together with the important adults in the child’s life.
