Children and Family Health Devon lead an Alliance that is unique and brings together six leading providers of adult and children’s community, acute and mental health services in Devon including:

• Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust
• Devon Partnership NHS Trust
• Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Trust (and formerly included Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust)
• Livewell Southwest

In addition, the Alliance includes key voluntary sector organisations (such as Young Devon, Vranch House, parental Minds, etc) and academic partners (University of Exeter, University of Plymouth, Marjon University).

The service model outlined in the commissioning strategy and Children’s Alliance bid, described a vision requiring change across multiple organisations, professional groupings and challenges to the existing ways we think about service delivery. There were 3 key developmental elements in the strategy:

1. i) Increasing access to prevention and early intervention,
2. ii) Integration across physical and mental healthcare and community and acute,

iii) Integrating multi-agency provision across health, education, social care and the   voluntary sector

NHS Devon Integrated Care Board (ICB) (formerly Devon CCG) and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust – Children and Families Health Devon (CFHD) – are parties to the contract for the provision of children’s community-based health and wellbeing services in Devon (excluding Plymouth). The contract commenced in April 2019. Devon County Council and Torbay Council are also commissioners of some services through Section 75 agreements with NHS Devon.
