Our mums are children’s occupational therapists

Today we’re chatting with three children about their mums, who happen to be occupational therapists. They’ll share what makes their mums special and why they admire the work they do every day.

Flo:
Hi! Our mums are children’s occupational therapists.
Hector:
That means they help children with all sorts of things every day.
Isla:
Like helping kids learn how to write and use a pencil comfortably.

Flo:
They also help children get dressed and do things like brushing their teeth or tying their shoelaces.
Hector:
Some children need help moving around, so our mums help with things like hoists and special equipment.
Isla:
They work with doctors, physios, nurses, and speech and language therapists to make sure children get the care and support they need.

Flo:
Our mums help children feel more confident and independent, so they can do more on their own.
Hector:
They also help children learn how to play and make friends.
Isla:
Sometimes, they work with families and schools to make sure children get the right support.
Flo:
Our mums make a big difference, helping children do the things that matter most.

We’re proud of our mums and all the amazing work they do!
