- May, I ask when was the last time you took an intentional breath?
- Slowing down our often-busy brains down, to pause and breathe with intention. Helps, the body ground itself and can help us think more clearly opposed to when we can feel we are running on adrenaline and everything feels overwhelming.
- The rainbow, is one example of provides a physical movement of tracing the rainbow and also brings the brain into a place of concentration. This mindful exercise also helps engage the senses helping bring our brain for just a moment to pause and our lungs to breathe with intention. Practicing such mindful exercises helps build a pathway for the brain, you can call upon when stepping out of our window tolerance to help gently guide ourselves back into our optimal zone of tolerance.
- There are many different mindful exercises that can be explored and it is about finding what is safe and right for you. Being able to role model this to your child/children, helping them to learn to be mindful and breathe with intention, may help them positively in time also.
