Update on Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD)

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) is part of the NHS and provides integrated care and treatment across physical and mental health for children, young people and their families in Devon and Torbay. We are an alliance of local NHS organisations led by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in partnership with Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT). 

CFHD was established in 2019 to bring together services that support the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. Operating within the NHS and sitting under two partner organisations, DPT and TSDFT, the partnership has worked hard to improve access, integrate pathways and deliver high-quality care.

As part of ongoing work to ensure the most effective and sustainable model for the future, the Boards of DPT and TSDFT have reviewed how services are currently delivered by CFHD through this partnership. Following these discussions, both organisations, along with our commissioner NHS Devon,  have agreed that DPT will lead as the single provider for CFHD.

Importantly, there will be no change or disruption to the services you receive or the teams you work with. Children, young people, families and professionals will continue to access services in the same way, from the same dedicated teams.

This change is about ensuring the best possible support for CFHD’s dedicated teams and creating a more streamlined structure that allows services to continue improving for children, young people and families.

During the coming months, a formal consultation process will take place with CFHD staff to ensure the transition is carefully planned and supports both colleagues and the families they serve. We will continue to provide updates as this work progresses.
