Speech, Language & Communication Pathway nominated for PAFTA ‘Team of the Year’ award
We are delighted to share that the Speech, Language and Communication Pathway within CFHD has been nominated in the ‘Team of the Year’ category at the Paediatric Awards For Training Achievements (PAFTAs).
The PAFTAs are regional awards recognising the exceptional hard work and commitment of staff working with Children & Young People across Devon & Cornwall. They celebrate the incredible contribution made every day across all services — offering a meaningful way to say “thank you” to colleagues who go above and beyond.
The awards are open to anyone working with Children & Young People across the region. Last year saw hundreds of nominations, with each nominee receiving a nomination certificate in recognition of their achievement.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place Saturday 16 May at the Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club – Exeter
Hannah Burton, Operational Manager for the Speech, Language and Communication pathway (across Devon) said, “Being nominated is a wonderful recognition of the team’s dedication and commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people. Congratulations to everyone involved in the pathway — this nomination reflects the impact of your hard work and passion. The team have done amazingly this year with local families really seeing the benefit.”
The whole Speech, Language and Communication (SLC) pathway have united and transformed the way they work across Devon and Torbay. This has been via the implementation of The Balanced System®. This is a system wide framework linking in with partners including settings, local authorities, and families. The change has seen a huge reduction in waiting lists for pre school children with some localities now offering appointments within a few weeks.
