CFHD acronym busting
We know that acronyms can be confusing and we’d rather not use them if we can avoid it but sometimes they pop up in conversations about your care or the service you use.
To help clear things up, here are a few you might hear and what they mean:
- MERs: Mood, emotions and relationships
- ACCE: Addressing adverse childhood experiences
- SLD: Specialist Learning Disability
- MHST: Mental health support team (schools)
- SLaC: Speech, Language and Communication
- ECD: Early Child Development
- CCN: Children’s Community Nursing
- SEND: Special educational need and disability
- ASD: Autistic Spectrum Disorder
We are here to make things as clear as possible, but if you ever hear a term or acronym your are unsure about, just ask.
