We provide this information to help guide you in understanding typical waiting times for this Pathway.
It can be difficult to give exact timescales for how long you might wait due to the many things that influence this.
This includes:
- Being guided by our triage of your needs
- The number of people needing a service from CFHD
- Current staffing capacities
- Increased demand for the service

The information given relates to the wait for a meaningful first contact after requesting help from CFHD. First meaningful contact from CFHD could be in person or online and could range from:
- Online or face to face assessment session
- Paediatrician appointment
Once you are accepted onto the Early Child Development pathway you will have received signposting information and support via your acceptance letter. You can also contact the pathway for support while you are waiting by calling our Single Point of Access: 0330 0245 321
We understand that waiting for your child to be seen and treated can be a difficult and stressful experience. We don’t want anyone waiting longer than needed, and we’re working hard to see people as quickly as possible.
