All about my sibling
Siblings of children with a learning disability often have a different experience to their peers. School and friends might not understand what they experience.
These activities can help siblings to start sharing with important people in their lives about their brother of sister with a learning disability.
Things to Tell my Teacher
Sit with your child and think together about how being a sibling to their brother or sister affects them at school. Perhaps they’re a bit more tired when their sibling has struggled to go to sleep, or they’re late to school because the taxi for their sibling was late and they needed to wait too.
Support them to think about what they need from their teacher. Help them to write a letter or draw a poster to share this with their teacher.
