Eastern Devon
Learning disability nurses support people with learning disabilities and their families and carers. We help children and young people with learning disabilities to maintain their health and wellbeing and to live their lives as fully and independently as possible by providing advice and support. We also support healthcare and education professionals as part of our service.
Children and Family Health Devon provides the NHS Learning Disability Nursing service in Exeter, Tiverton, Exmouth, Okehampton, Honiton, Sidmouth and Axminster from our Eastern Devon base.

About us
The service we offer includes behavioural, sleep and toileting assessments; working with children who have profound and severe levels of learning disability (including children who additionally have autism) and supporting the development of community and school based programmes of support. As such, we offer support both directly to children and young people with learning disabilities and indirectly in order to facilitate access to mainstream services.
In Eastern Devon our team is made up of Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and an Assistant Psychologist.
You can refer a child or young person to us by using the Single Point of Access and making a Request for Service.
